    Ruth Medsker, Principal

    Headshot Principal Medsker

My name is Ruth Medsker and I am privileged to be the planning principal charged with re-opening Lincoln High School (LHS). LHS closed in the spring of 1981 and its reopening marks the first large high school to open in Seattle since 1963! LHS will open in the fall of 2019 after extensive remodeling to meet the needs of today’s learners. Enrollment boundaries will be determined in November-December of 2017.

I am excited to get started planning and put my prior experience to work. I have served in a variety of teaching and administrative roles in Seattle Public Schools, including being both a General Education and Special Education teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal, and Executive Director of Schools, and most recently principal of West Seattle High School. During the 2016-2017 school year in addition to leading West Seattle High School, I was a Principal on Assignment, tasked with engaging staff and the community to re-envision high school and bring high school programs into alignment with the new 24 credit graduation requirements enacted by the Washington State Legislature.

    Corey Eichner, Assistant Principal

Assistant Principal Corey EichnerI am proud to be joining the Lincoln High School team. I have worked in education the last 15 years serving as teacher, activities coordinator, and administrator at both the middle and high school levels. Most recently I served four years as the Assistant Principal at Renton High School prior to starting in my new role as Assistant Principal of Lincoln on July 1, 2018.

My educational background includes both my undergraduate and graduate studies at Western Washington University with a primary teaching endorsement in the Social Studies. In addition to my teaching I have worked with the state Principal Association (AWSP) in developing and delivering leadership curriculum for our state-wide leadership camps and moved into the building leadership capacity with a strong belief in equity and providing as many opportunities for every student to achieve.

I am a family man, love the outdoors, and a die-hard Seahawks fan! I am looking forward to my work with Lincoln High community!
