    Fall Partner Kickoff

In support of improved partnerships and alignment on Thursday, Sept. 28, more than 80 people from a variety of community-based organizations that partner with Seattle Public Schools (SPS) came together for the Fall Partner Kick-Off at the New Holly Gathering Hall in Seattle.

The event was led by the district's School and Community Partnerships Department as part of the Professional Development Calendar for Education Partners, a series of free trainings for community partners of SPS.

"Partners are critical to the work that we do," said SPS Partnership Alignment Manager Rivka Burstein-Stern. "Our major goal as a district is to eliminate opportunity gaps and our partners are critical to reaching that goal."

Attendees were welcomed by Dr. Nyland while the district presented to our partners SPS priorities and practices for this coming school year, an overview of the district's Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), and the role of partners. We also received feedback on how we can better support partners to plug into MTSS in meaningful ways.

Thank you partners and we look forward to a successful 2017-18 school year!
