The Eagle – Spring Break Edition
Letter from Principal Bean
Dear Families,
I hope everyone enjoys their spring break! I look forward to seeing everyone on April 21.
Move-A-Thon: Thank you to all the parents who showed up to cheer on the kids at the Move-A-Thon. It was a tremendous success. I also want to give a huge shoutout to Anna Gorohoff for all the work she did to make this event so amazing.
Water Dunking: Our fantastic Move-A-Thon finished on a sad note, however. I was a member of the losing auction team and was forced to endure being drenched in water. Joining me in the shame were Mr. Austin, Ms. Modi, Mrs. Mora, Ms. Jill (Jeakins), Ms. Jill (Hughson), Nurse Angie, and Mr. Kreiter.
April Virtue: Our April Attribute of a Changemaker is a combination of Self-Awareness, Empathy, and Advocacy. This past week at our assembly fifth graders did a great job of showing how self-awareness leads directly to building empathy, which then leads to advocacy.
State Testing Schedule after Spring Break: Grades 3 and 4 are beginning state testing next week. Please make sure they get a good night’s rest and a healthy breakfast. Please see the schedule below to help you know which weeks to try to avoid any appointments.
Grade 3/4/5 Testing Schedule:
- April 28-May 2: 3rd and 4th grade literacy
- May 5-9: 4th grade math
- May 12-16: 5th grade literacy
- May 19-23: 5th grade math
- May 27-30: 3rd grade Math
In partnership,
Mr. Bean (he/him)

If you’ve been hoarding books since 2015, (you have a lot?) reach out to us for additional ways to drop them off, or we’ll come pick them up. Email Andrea at amchaddock@gmail.com
