Ice Skating at the Kraken Community Iceplex

3-5th graders go on an ice skating field trip each year. It is a fun learning experiences that bring our school community together.

In PE, students first learned the fundamentals of roller skating — balance, coordination, and safe movement. At the Kraken Iceplex they applied those skills to ice skating, building confidence on the ice while supporting one another. This year students even got a chance to shoot hockey pucks into hockey nets — a thrilling new challenge that many tried and enjoyed.

We deeply appreciate the Kraken Iceplex’s ongoing commitment to hosting this field trip every year. Their partnership makes memorable, skill-building experiences possible for our students.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success — students, chaperones, teachers, and our community partners. We look forward to more opportunities for our OV students this winter and beyond!
