Olympic View Plant Sale is 5/2, 5/3
This year, we’re planning on more than just plants—we’re cultivating community! Our vision includes beautiful flowers, hands-on bouquet making, opportunities to learn and nurture your creativity, delicious treats to enjoy together, and a charming used book sale—all rooted in the spirit of bringing our community together to support OV students!
If you’d like to help us bring this dream to life, we’d love to hear from you! Reach out to Andrea at amchaddock@gmail.com with questions and keep an eye out for the SignupGenius.
Used Book Sale is Back!
After many years of neglect, the happy little yellow book collection bin has been revived, and is accepting your donations of gently-used books of all kinds! Books will be sold during the OV Plant Sale: Blooms and Books event, May 2 and 3, all proceeds benefiting the OVPTA. If you’ve been hoarding books since 2015, (you have a lot?) reach out to us for additional ways to drop them off, or we’ll come pick them up. Email Andrea at amchaddock@gmail.com
Sounders Tickets for 6/1
Olympic View is headed out to the Sounders Match on June 1st at 3pm! Tickets are $30 and are on sale now. Bring the family to cheer on the squad! And kids will be able to watch the last 20 minutes from the field.
OVPTA Surplus Grants for 2024-2025
The PTA Board and membership decided that we can fund some surplus grants this year! Do you have an idea that supports the OVPTA mission and goals, but you need funds to make it happen? Have you identified a need that could be filled using some PTA money? The PTA has designated up to $10,000 to be spent on projects executed by our OV community members. That means YOU, our OV staff and our OV families, can submit a proposal for a project you’ll spearhead! In past years, these mini grants have funded classroom books, equipment upgrades, outdoor projects, and end of year activities. We’ll be trying to prioritize projects that benefit the most OV students and have longevity, but don’t be afraid to submit a proposal for something outside-the-box! Does it make OV even more amazing than it already is? Let’s hear it!
We’ll collect proposals and the PTA Board will approve some (but not all) proposals each month until the end of the year, or until we reach our spending limit. After each board meeting, we’ll let everyone know what we decided.
Don’t be intimidated by the proposal, it is just our process to get the information, it does not have to be a professional-looking grant!
Please email advocacy@ovpta.org with any questions or if you’d like to submit your proposal via paper form.
