Friday, April 26, 9 AM – 7 PM
Saturday, April 27, 9 AM – 3 PM (or until all sold out)

The 22nd Annual OV Plant Sale is taking place right in OV’s courtyard on Friday, April 26th, 9 AM – 7 PM, and Saturday, April 27th, 9 AM – 3 PM – or until all sold out! Plants are sourced from the finest local nurseries in the greater Seattle Area, with a curated selection available for purchase. There will be perennials, annuals, veggies, indoor plants and hanging baskets for sale. The Master Gardeners will visit to answer your gardening questions, we’ll have some amazing art activities for the kids, and an Upscale Bake Sale to replenish your energy while you shop. We hope to see you there!

Eagles – We also need your help to make this OV fundraiser a success!

Plant Sale Wish List:

  • Treats for our bake sale! We’re planning to sweeten the customer experience with fancier treats – and we need your help to fill the shelves! Can you help by bringing some tasty snacks for the Upscale Bake Sale? Breakfast items, sweet and savory treats are all welcome. Extra credit if they’re inspired by gardening (think herb-infused, floral-decorated or veggie-themed). It would be great if we had some Passover-friendly unleavened or flour-free items, too.  Please bring them pre-packaged to sell and preferably labeled. If you’d like us to package your items, please reach out, we’re happy to help.
  • Cardboard boxes: Preferably boxes with low sides, more like cardboard trays. Bring boxes to the courtyard starting Thursday, 4/25.
  • Pop-up Tents: Whether to protect our human friends from sun or our most tender plants from chilly rain, we’ll use any tents you can lend. You can bring them to school anytime and put them on the stage. Please be sure they’re labeled with your name.
  • Folding Tables: We can never have enough tables. You can stack them with the other tables in the front hallway anytime this week. Please be sure they’re labeled with your name and we’ll make sure they get back to you.

And Most Important.. We Need You! No plant knowledge necessary! We’ve got jobs for people who like to get their hands dirty and those who would rather stay tidy!

On Thursday you can help set up tables and tents, unload trucks, label and organize plants, make copies, create and laminate signs, set up the sale, and have fun!

On Friday and Saturday, you can help cashier, water thirsty plants, help customers shop, chat with neighbors about OV, learn about plants, clean and fold up tables and tents, and have fun!

Please join us for a shift if you can! Sign up to volunteer for any of the things listed above. Reach out to amchaddock@gmail.com with questions.

See you at the Plant Sale!

OVPTA seeks the future of PTA Leadership!! Wednesday – May 1

We’re sad to see a lot of our current volunteers graduating soon – are you ready to step in and give back to OV by joining the PTA Board? We want to ensure that all your favorite OV activities continue on!

Volunteering on the PTA Board is a great way to get to know your OV community and be a part of making OV the amazing place we love so much!! Our Board meets monthly and is supportive and friendly!! Volunteer Opportunities

Library Volunteers Wanted

Calling all volunteers!  We are looking for a few parents who would be willing to volunteer in the library. Volunteers will help pick up books from classrooms, check books in, and return books to their shelves.  Occasional special project may also arise throughout the year and your help would be greatly appreciated.

We need volunteers to help with packing on Friday mornings from about 8:00-9:00 am. If you are able to help during this timeframe, we would be grateful for your help!

We would love to have some consistent volunteers, so if you can commit to one or more Fridays a month, that would be helpful. Feel free to drop into the lunchroom any Friday after drop off to lend a hand as well if you find yourself with some time. Questions? Contact k.linnes@gmail.com

We also need plastic and paper shopping bags (the thicker, handled ones like from Target or a grocery store).  If you have extras you can donate, please drop them off in the office.
